We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible to avoid any charges.

Pick Up

We strive to provide efficient service, but we are not a pet-sitting facility. Please adhere to the following:

  • You will receive a text message 30 minutes before your dog is ready for collection.

  • Late pick-ups will incur an additional fee.

We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these policies, as they allow us to serve all our clients effectively and maintain a smooth operation.

Pricing

At Poodle & Hound, we strive to provide accurate pricing information for our dog grooming services. However, please note the following:

  • All quotes provided at the time of booking or inquiry are estimates.

  • The final price of grooming services is dependent on various factors, some of which may not be apparent until the grooming process begins.

  • These factors can include, but are not limited to:

    • The actual condition of your dog's coat (e.g., matting, thickness)

    • Your dog's behavior during the grooming session

    • Any additional services required or requested during the appointment

  • Due to these variables, the final price may differ from the initial estimate.

  • We reserve the right to adjust the price without prior notice based on the actual services required.

We appreciate your understanding of this pricing policy. Our goal is to provide the best possible care and grooming for your pet while maintaining fair and transparent pricing practices.

By bringing your pet to Poodle & Hound, or allowing our staff to handle your pet, you voluntarily agree to this release of liability.

Dog Behaviour

At Poodle & Hound, we prioritise the safety and comfort of all pets and staff members. Our dog behavior policy is as follows:

  • All dogs must be on a leash when entering and exiting the salon.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to any dog that displays aggressive behavior towards staff or other animals.

  • Owners must inform us of any known behavioral issues, including but not limited to aggression, anxiety, or fear, prior to the appointment.

  • If your pet has bitten before, is aggressive, unpredictable, and or has any other behavioural issues including nervousness. If the owner fails to notify us of any potential danger or behavioural issue, you can and will be liable for all medical fees, out of work compensation as well as any or all property damage.

  • If a dog becomes overly stressed or aggressive during the grooming process, we may need to stop the service for the safety of the pet and our staff.

  • In cases where a dog's behavior prevents us from completing the grooming service, owners may still be charged a fee based on the time and effort spent.

We strive to create a calm and positive environment for all pets. Our staff are trained to handle various temperaments, but we rely on owner cooperation to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for everyone.

Matting

At Poodle & Hound, we take the health and comfort of your pet seriously. Our policy regarding matted dogs is as follows:

  • We will assess the condition of your dog's coat upon arrival. If significant matting is found, we will discuss the situation with you before proceeding.

  • Severe matting can cause discomfort and health issues for your pet. In such cases, we may recommend a full shave-down as the most humane and effective solution.

  • De-matting is a time-consuming and potentially painful process for your pet. We will only attempt to de-mat if the matting is minor and can be safely removed without causing distress.

  • Additional charges will apply for de-matting or shaving heavily matted coats. These charges reflect the extra time, effort, and care required for these procedures.

Please note that matted coats can hide skin conditions or injuries. We are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions revealed during the de-matting or shaving process. Your pet's well-being is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in addressing matting issues.

Clipping Double-coats

At Poodle & Hound, we have a specific policy regarding the clipping of double-coated breeds:

  • We generally do not recommend shaving or heavily clipping double-coated breeds, as it can interfere with their natural temperature regulation and protection from the elements.

  • Double-coated breeds include, but are not limited to, Huskies, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Samoyeds.

  • If a client insists on clipping a double-coated breed, we will thoroughly discuss the potential risks and consequences, which may include:

  • Altered coat regrowth (texture, color, or pattern changes)

  • Increased susceptibility to sunburn and skin issues

  • Disruption of the dog's natural cooling system

  • Possible permanent damage to the coat

Our priority is always the health and comfort of your pet. We encourage regular brushing and proper coat maintenance as alternatives to clipping for double-coated breeds.

Social Media & Marketing

At Poodle & Hound, we value the opportunity to showcase our work and share the joy of well-groomed pets. Our policy regarding the use of images and videos is as follows:

  • We may take photographs or videos of your pet during or after the grooming process.

  • These images and videos may be used for various purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Social media posts on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok

  • Marketing materials including our website, brochures, and advertisements

  • By bringing your pet to Poodle & Hound, you grant us permission to use these images and videos unless you explicitly opt out.

  • We respect your privacy and will never disclose personal information about you or your pet alongside any images or videos.

  • If you wish to opt out of having your pet's images or videos used, please inform our staff before the grooming session.

  • You may request the removal of specific images or videos featuring your pet at any time, and we will comply to the best of our ability.

We strive to present all pets in a positive and respectful manner. Our goal is to celebrate the beauty and personality of your furry friends while showcasing our grooming expertise.

Health & Safety

At Poodle & Hound, we prioritise the health and safety of all pets in our care. Our health and safety policy includes the following:

  • Vaccination Requirements: All dogs must have up-to-date vaccination records.

  • Pre-existing Health Conditions: Owners must inform us of any pre-existing health conditions, recent surgeries, or ongoing treatments their dog may have. This information is crucial for us to provide appropriate care during the grooming process.

  • Illness: If your dog shows signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, etc.), please reschedule your appointment. We reserve the right to refuse service to visibly ill dogs to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.

  • Parasites: Dogs with visible signs of parasites (worms, ticks, etc.) may be refused service until the issue is addressed by a veterinarian.

We maintain a clean and sanitized environment and use appropriate products to ensure the well-being of all pets. However, the primary responsibility for your dog's health lies with you, the owner. By adhering to these policies, you help us create a safe and healthy environment for all our furry clients.
